Build Quality
Build quality is superb. The Vari-Senior has a 10″ glass fresnel lamp head, (other brands cut costs, and use plastic lenses) It boasts a 5kw tungsten eqivalant output, and draws 900w or 4amps, that’s less draw than a traditional 1kw tungsten lamp head.
Variable Colour Temperature with Plus & Minus Green
The Vari-Senior offers daylight and tungsten with plus & minus green. All at the touch of the botton, or a touch screen, the choice is yours. One lamp, that doubles up as a tungsten and daylight source. The kelvin range is 2700 kelvin – 6500 kelvin with 92+ CRI.

As a gaffer or cinematographer, we all have budgets to work with, we believe the Mole Richardson Vari-Senior will extend how far your budget reaches, whilst keeping your producer happy. Have you ever had a bulb blow on set? Have you had mis-matched colour temperatures on your HMI bulbs? Its a terrible sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach, hoping the spare is good, or money spent on filters to colour correct. We love the direction that mole are moving with LED lighting, the 2.8″ LCD touch screen, is bright enough for outdoor, and night time use, the menus are intuative, and the intergrated twist and push selector is great for lighting technicians wearing gloves. We are thrilled to hear Mole Richardson will soon be releasing an application, and we have high hopes as to what this application can do to bring even more versatility and simplicity to set. Finally, lumen radio is taking over the lighting game, Mole Richardson are smart to have followed suit, allowing lighting teams all over world, to immediatly gain full control of the vari-senior, over there choice of DMX Lumen Radio application control.
